According to the Orlando Sentinel, a director-producer from Celebration, Florida, Anthony Cortese, is creating a new documentary. This new project called Walt Disney – Master of Dreamers, will focus on how Epcot was created, even after Walt passed away.

This is not the first film Anthony has done.

In 2016 he produced a Disney-based film called Dreamfinders, focusing on Disney fans who loved Disney so much they made careers out of their fandom in Orlando, Florida.

Master of Dreamers

In Master of Dreamers, the film will be about how everything came together after Walt, and it will feature interviews from former Imagineers like Rolly Crump, Bob Gurr, and Richard Sherman of the Sherman brothers.

Mr. Cortese said this about the documentary:

“The story itself is about Walt Disney’s journey from the 1964 World’s Fair, beyond his death and then how everyone sort of rallied together to pull off Walt Disney World and, ultimately, Epcot, and the challenges they faced in trying to figure out what the heck did the old man want,” he said.

In order to convince investors and to win over some of the people he wanted to interview, Cortese had to put together a trailer. That’s how he got some of the former Disney employees to agree to participate.

The Future for Master of Dreamers

Mr. Cortese hopes to have some version of his project ready by fall. In the meantime he is planning a fundraising event at the Celebration Town Hall on April 28, and 15% of the proceeds will be donated to “Give Kids the World.”

There is still a lot of post-production work to be done and he needs to raise money to complete it. He’s also hoping for the Walt Disney Company’s permission to possibly use some archival footage or for the film to be sold at the theme parks.

In regards to creating this project, and his previous project Cortese said:

“I learned a lot about filmmaking in general,” he said. “But I think more than anything I learned that there’s a real deep thirst for Disney history.”

You can keep your eyes out for this film. Hopefully he get is ready for the fall like he intends.

In the meantime you can watch the Dreamfinders film on Youtube.
