‘Coco’ Mirror de los Muertos Coming Soon to Disney’s Mexico Pavilion at Epcot

We speculated earlier about what the new installation at Walt Disney World’s Mexico pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase was. At the time it was simply an outline with no real ‘Coco’ connection, other than the design.  Now we do know that it will be a Mirror de los Muertos.

@bioreconstruct was at Epcot today and posted this on Twitter:

This was one of the theories we and readers discussed when we talked about the new piece showing up at the World Showcase location.

Here is how it looked recently, on January 6, 2018:

Here is how it looks now, but it isn’t working yet.

I love the colors and the way the piece is finished. It’s so beautiful, just like the movie!

“Mirror de los Muertos

In Disney / Pixar’s vibrant story of family, fun and adventure, an aspiring musician named Miguel embarks on an extraordinary journey to the Land of the Dead – a colorful and festive place where ancestors continue to exist as long as they are remembered by someone in the living world. Take a look into this magical mirror and you may see yourself as a skeleton in the Land of the Dead!”

This sounds like it’s going to be a fun little activity to check out! In the earlier, January 6, post, there was a Mickey icon where you can scan your magic band. I’m betting this will allow you to either add it to the Photo Pass Memory Maker package or allow you to purchase a copy of the image.

Since it isn’t working yet, it’s all speculation, but I can’t wait to see this in action!
