1) Dining Options
Since the Beach Club is so close to the Yacht Club, you have the advantage of 2 resorts worth of dining! Beaches and Cream soda shop has great burgers and ice cream, and while it is a table service meal it has that quick service vibe. The sundae’s there are out of this world! If you’re looking for an elegant dinner, the Yachtsman Steakhouse is a great option, you can’t go wrong with any of their steaks. The Beach Club Marketplace is the main quick service option, while it doesn’t have anything particularly exotic, the food isn’t bad and my husband is crazy over the breakfast sandwich. They have also added Mickey Waffles to the menu! If the options at the Beach and Yacht Club aren’t enough, you’re in walking distance to The Boardwalk, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and the Swan and Dolphin, so dining choices abound!
2) Stylish and Comfortable Accommodations
The rooms at the Beach Club are among my favorite at any Disney resort! The beige and blue color scheme is cool and instantly makes you feel relaxed, especially after a fast paced day in the parks. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with a theme that evokes seaside charm. The walls are decorated with beach themed artwork and there are subtle starfish on the drawer pulls. The bathroom is fabulous! The polka dot, bubbly shower curtain is covered with hidden and not so hidden Mickeys, while the shower tile is elegant and gives a luxurious touch! In our experience, the rooms are fairly quiet, and noise from the hallway doesn’t normally carry into the room!
3) Stormalong Bay – Pool Experience
Stormalong Bay is arguably the best resort pool on Walt Disney World property. Between the sandy bottom beach area, the lazy river and the pirate ship slide, it is a water lover’s dream! After a hot day in the parks, there isn’t anything better than cooling off in the pool. The lazy river is exceptional – you can opt to float it in one of the available inner tubes or swim around on your own. Not interested in the excitement of the big pool? There is a fantastic quiet pool that has its own hot tub. That hot tub is great at night, you can hear the music from Illuminations and if you look up high above the hotel, you can catch a glimpse of some of the really high firework bursts from the comfort of the hot tub!
4) Proximity to the International Gateway & Hollywood Studios
If you plan on spending a lot of time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios, this is the resort for you! It’s a short walk to the International Gateway (or you can opt to ride the Friendship boat). This back entrance to Epcot is typically a quick and easy way to get in the park. The lines are typically significantly shorter and the cast members there are fun! I love the fact that this opens up so many dining options at night. Want a sushi dinner, all you have to do is stroll over to Epcot. You can also walk to Hollywood Studios (count on about a 20 minute hike) or take Friendship Boats. In the morning, the walk to Hollywood Studios is a great way to start your day. I find starting my morning by picking up a snack from the Boardwalk Bakery and then walking to Hollywood Studio’s sets the tone for an excellent Disney day.
