The Broadway version of Frozen has been cast. Anna will be played by Patti Murin (Lysistrata Jones and Xanadu) and Elsa will be portrayed by Caissie Levy (Ghost, Les Miserables and Hair.) Also cast are Jelani Alladin (broadway debut) as Kristoff, Greg Hildreth (Peter and the Starcatcher and Cinderella) as Olaf, John Riddle (The Visit’s Young Anton) as Hans, and Robert Creighton (The Little Mermaid, and Anything Goes) as the Duke of Weselton.
Michael Grandage will be directing, teaming up again with Tony winner Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Curtains.) He will be creating the choreography for the show, replacing Christopher Gattelli (Newsies.) Returning to Frozen, for the Broadway version, are the original music and lyrics team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and a book by the film screenwriter and co-director Jennifer Lee (Zootopia and Wreck-It Ralph.)
The show will open in New York’s St. James Theater Spring 2018, but it will have a limited trial run in Denver at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts from August 17 – October 1, 2017. Tickets will be on sale May 1, for Denver. The Broadway tickets will be on sale sometime this summer.
