Disney / Pixar’s ‘Coco’ Poised To Make New Box Office Record in Mexico

Disney/Pixar’s new animated film Coco was released at the Morelia Film Festival in Mexico on October 27, right before the three day Dia De Los Muertos holiday. After it’s release the animated film has broken the record for the top film in Mexico. It reached 824 million pesos (43.1 million) in less than three weeks.  It’s also looking to beat out the previous top movie, The Avengers, before it’s run is over.

Disney must be doing great in Mexico, the two top grossing films were both Disney collaboration ones.

So Far the Reviews are Great!

Coco will be released in the United States on November 22 and already has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.  It has a 96% for both the “Tatometer” category and for the “Want to see” category.  That is quite the feat, as that site is notoriously hard on films.

Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.”
