Walt Disney World will debut its newest castle projection and fireworks show tomorrow night (May 12, 2017.) To celebrate, Disney will livestream the premiere.

The Happily Ever After livestreaming event will begin at 8:55 p.m. EST. on May 12.

The new show features a new musical number written specifically for the show, as well as brand-new hand-drawn 2D animated sequences produced by veteran Disney animators. It’s the third projection mapping show to use Cinderella Castle as a “canvas.” Happily Ever After replaces the long-running Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, which makes its bow tonight.

While some Disney fans will undoubtedly be upset by the loss of Wishes, this is the first new nighttime entertainment that has been added to the Magic Kingdom in several years. For some park guests, it will be a welcome addition, as the Main Street Electrical Parade left in October of 2016 and is currently running in Disneyland. There’s been no word from Disney as to whether or not the Magic Kingdom will see the return of either the Main Street Electrical Parade, or a suitable replacement.

The Happily Ever After livestream will be available on the Disney Parks Blog, and you can follow along using the hashtag #DisneyParksLive

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
