Disney World’s Uber? ‘Minnie Vans’ to Roll Out in July

Are the buses at Walt Disney World too slow? Well, you might want to call a Minnie Van.

Amidst the plethora of D23 announcements was confirmation of Disney’s Uber-like service called “Minnie Vans.” The Disney Parks Blog recently unveiled a fleet of Chevy Traverse Minnie Vans (though there’s been speculation that they may also use the Chevy Equinox.)

Disney is stating that the Minnies will appear this month, and will begin transporting guests staying at the Epcot area resorts (Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach Club) before being rolled out to other resorts.

Disney also says that guests will be able to schedule a Minnie Van pickup via mobile app. Some are reporting that Disney will use the Lyft app to schedule rides, but we cannot personally confirm at this time.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
