On March 31, Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs will be home to a fabulous new collection called The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane.
The Disney Parks Blog recently debuted several photos of upcoming dresses and talked to merchandiser Donna Sorrow about the new collections.
“We designed The Dress Shop collection for guests who want to emulate their favorite Disney characters or theme park attractions in a fun, retro way,” explained Donna. “These items aren’t costumes, rather the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style.”
“Disney style” indeed! These pieces are so fun and amazing! If you are familiar with park policy guest over 14 years and older can not wear costumes to the park, but guests are allowed to wear outfits inspired by the look of a character, ride or movie. These dresses fit the bill, with nods to Minnie Mouse, Alice in Wonderland, the Orange Bird, the Enchanted Tiki Room, the Tower of Terror, the Haunted Mansion and more!
If dresses aren’t your style, they will have accessories like handbags to match! I especially love the Hollywood Tower Hotel suitcase purse.
The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane will open at the Disney Springs Marketplace Co-op inside their accessories boutique on March 31. If you are in the Disneyland area you can visit Vault 28 in Downtown Disney for select items from the collection, and beginning mid-April, you can also purchase select pieces in the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World.
The article indicates these items will not be available on the Shop Disney Parks App or the Disney Parks Online Store at the time of launch. But, it doesn’t say whether or not they will become available at a later date. So keep checking! I personally can’t wait to see the Haunted Mansion pieces! I also hope they offer a wide range of sizes.
