How Far I’ll Go: Moana’s Oscar-Nominated Song Live at the Academy Awards

Moana | How Far I'll Go sung by Auli'i Cravalho

While Disney’s Moana lost to another amazing Disney film, Zootopia, for Best Animated Feature Film at last night’s Academy Awards, there’s no denying that the movie had an amazing soundtrack, thanks in huge part to songwriter Line-Manuel Miranda and the newcomer voice of Moana, Auli’i Cravalho.

Ms. Cravalho took to the stage to sing the movie’s anthem, “How Far I’ll Go” at last night’s show and she did an amazing job.

She even kept on singing despite being whacked in the back of the head by a flag waver. Now that’s perseverance!

Sadly, “How Far I’ll Go” didn’t take home the Oscar for Best Original Song. That honor went to “City of Stars” from La La Land.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
