Goodbye, DisneyQuest… Demolition to Begin Soon

It’s “Game Over” with permadeath for DisneyQuest.

A Notice of Commencement for its demolition has been filed that will see the building that once housed the “Disney arcade” being torn down. These notices expire after one year, so demolition could begin any day now.

DisneyQuest will be replaced with The NBA Experience, an immersive basketball experience. There is currently no opening date announced.

DisneyQuest opened in 1998 and was initially planned to be a chain of arcade experiences, much like Dave & Buster’s or Chuck E. Cheese but more immersive. The concept never took off, leaving Disney Springs’ facility the last one standing. It closed on July 2, 2017, and most of its attractions were sold off mere days after its closure.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
