Last summer it was announced that Ellen’s Energy Adventure (The Universe of Energy) would be closing to make way for a new Guardians of the Galaxy indoor coaster. They are saying it will be one of the longest indoor coasters in the world. We also got a potential look at the new cars for the attraction here.
We also know that they existing Universe of Energy building will be kept and a large addition will be added to the rear to make room for this coaster.
Now, we are seeing progress on this new addition. @bioreconstruct got some pictures of construction being done as seen from the monorail. We tried to get some about a month ago, but couldn’t see too much. But it looks like it’s starting now.

We will be down in about 2.5 weeks and will try to get some new shots to see the progress. I know that the cranes are out now and they do seem to me moving pretty quickly on new additions at Walt Disney World.
Until we get the new coaster Disney is offering some other Guaradians fun, with a Guardians of the Galaxy themed dance party this summer at the American Gardens Theater in Epcot’s World Showcase. But hopefully, we will be getting more updates on the coaster soon.
In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out @bioreconstruct on Twitter, please do. The account is always posting great shots from Walt Disney World and other Orlando attractions.
