‘Happily Ever After’ – New Magic Kingdom Nighttime Show to Debut May 12

Goodbye ‘Wishes’, hello ‘Happily Ever After.’

The venerable ‘Wishes’ nighttime show will be retired from the Magic Kingdom later this year. Taking its place is a brand new ‘nighttime spectacular’ called ‘Happily Ever After.’

According to the Disney Parks Blog, this new fireworks / castle projection show will feature characters from many beloved Disney classics, as well as popular characters from newer films like Moana, Brave, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and many others.

Formerly known as “The Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party,” this event will continue in Tomorrowland, although a name change is a given.

Like the Main Street Electrical Parade before it, it’s always sad to see a beloved attraction or event leave Disney World. However, Happily Ever After looks be truly state-of-the-art and is sure to become a new perennial favorite.

What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to this new show, or would you prefer that ‘Wishes’ stayed put. Comment in the forums!
