A third hotel will open in Hong Kong Disneyland on April 30. Disney Explorers Lodge is a new 750 room resort featuring an “adventure” theme and includes artifacts from across Asia, South America, Oceania and Africa.
From Xinhau News Agency…
With its exotic theme and immersive storytelling, the new hotel will be an ideal getaway destination for local and other guests, Terruce Wang, vice president of sales and hotel operations at the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort told media during a preview tour.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the hotel will feature nods to Disney and Pixar adventure films, including “Kevin Gardens”, a nod to Kevin the bird from Up, and “Little Squirt Garden”, a nod to Squirt from Finding Nemo.
The hotel is themed to exploration era of the 1920s, and displays many unique artifacts around the property that hark back to that era. I have to wonder if Imagineering won’t somehow tie the hotel into the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.) considering the theme and that Hong Kong Disneyland is home to Mystic Manor.
You can explore the new Disney Explorers Lodge for yourself when it opens on April 30, 2017.
