Jim Shore Disney Traditions Figment Statue and Signing Event to be Held at the Walt Disney World Resort

Jim Shore has created a new figure for the Disney Traditions line–Figment! Figment fans will be happy to hear that they will soon be able to purchase this new 6″ tall, stone resin figure for themselves (6”H x 3”D x 3.75”W). If you are lucky enough to be around the Walt Disney Resort on May 12th and May 13th you can catch Mr. Shore at his appearance and signing events! He will be at Mouse Gears in Epcot on May 12th (10 a.m. – noon) and at The Art of Disney, at Disney Springs on May 13th (10 a.m,-noon.) They will be $45.00 + tax, with a purchase limit of two per guest.

Like his other pieces, Jim Shore’s Figment features playful colors and a carved wood look, with incised quilt-like patterns. I’m an art teacher and I love his work. I love how he takes one medium and makes it look like another and I enjoy the bright and cheerful color palettes he uses with the “folk art” feel. The incising creates beautiful bold lines that accentuate the figures.  The lines combined with his use of shapes and color draw your eye around the piece. He takes well known characters, and he makes them his own.

There was a pre-order link, where they would be signed, but they are already sold out. I’m sure they will be available afterwards too, just not signed.

Disney has been a big part of my life for years--from family trips to WDW to growing up on Disney classics, TV, and movies. I'm a mom and an art teacher. I love to share my love for Disney and I'm also a co-host of the Disney fan podcast Pirates and Princesses (PNP.) Opinions, like my freckles, are all mine.

  1. Figment was and is always my favorite. I’m upset I didn’t get the Jim Shore Figment. Please don’t take it away. You’re trying to be Universal, and I hate Universal. Disney is fun, and wholesome, that’s what it’s suppose to be about.
    Keep Figment Please.
