Marvel Director Trying to Get Lucasfilm to Release Original Star Wars Cut)

A lot of Star Wars fans like the original cut of the Star Wars films form 1977-1983 ( Star Wars: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.)  In the past, when George Lucas was in charge, there were original cuts of these films.  Until, George did his Special Edition cuts.  Then those were the ones brought out for purchase.  And then again later with the effects “fixed.”

Now, Peyton Reed, the director of Ant-Man and the Wasp, is publicly asking Lucasfilm and Disney to rerelease the original cuts of the Star Wars trilogy for Blu-ray.

A lot of people like the Special Editions, but like Mr. Reed, I prefer the original cuts.  I miss the Ewoks singing “yub yub” at the end of the film.  I’m lucky enough to have the original cuts on DVD with the new versions, but I would love to have digital or Blu-ray versions of them.  I think a lot of other fans would too.  Here’s hoping they listen.
