‘Mission: Space’ To Re-Open August with New Green Mission

Yesterday during the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Panel at the D23 Expo, Bob Chapek,  Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and Tom Fitzgerald, the Imagineer in charge of changes coming to Epcot, announced that Mission: Space would reopen “Next Month” and they would be adding a new green mission.  Fitzgerald said:

Our Partners at ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) have worked their magic on making the Mars Mission look even more incredible, but wait till you see what we’ve created with them for the all new Green Mission.  Guests are going to blast off for an orbital adventure around our planet, and as you can see in some of these clips it’s kind of like Soarin’ Around Earth.  With this Green Mission what’s really great is that younger kids can join the adventure for the very first time.

So stay tuned for a final re-opening date for Mission: Space.  But with them closing down the Universe on Energy on August, 13, 2017, for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride, I’m thinking it will open back up somewhere around that time.
