It’s a retro-gaming blast from the past! Capcom has announced that it’s releasing six of its classic NES titles based on The Disney Afternoon. The digitally remastered set includes both DuckTales titles, both Chip N Dale’s Rescue Rangers titles, Darkwing Duck and Tale Spin.

This six-pack of retro video games will have new features such as the ability to “rewind” the action and allow players to re-do parts of the game where they might’ve missed an item or met an untimely death.

Capcom posted this official announcement video on their blog.

DuckTales will be getting a reboot later this year on Disney XD, so now is a great time to catch up on tie-in games from the 1980s series.

What was The Disney Afternoon?

For readers who don’t remember The Disney Afternoon, it was a syndicated block of Disney animated programming. It aired from the 1980s to the early 1990s and included series such as DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Darkwing Duck, Bonkers, Goof Troop and more. Capcom created many tie-in games for Disney during that time period, most for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
