Yesterday, Disney announced new additions to their Adventures by Disney Short Escape Vacations line-up. Three new adventures in Boston, London, and Vancouver will launch next year.
What’s a Short Escape Vacation?
A Short Escape Vacation is a two-four night trip to select destinations. They can be booked alone or as part of a larger vacation package. As an added bonus, these trips come with special itineraries that include hands-on activities, must-see attractions, VIP service and special access to experiences. All done with the high level of quality you would expect from Disney.
The New Adventure Options
Best of Boston – Past and Present
On the four-day, three-night Short Escape itinerary in Boston, travelers will learn about treasured American history and spirited contemporary culture.
Guests will receive privately guided tours along the Freedom Trail and the Old North Church Exploring where many famous moments of the American Revolution took place. Attend a special after-hours visit to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. Afterwards there’s a private dinner.
Other family-friendly activities include “rowing along the Charles River, biking the city on a private adventure, exploring the grounds of Harvard Yard, and indulging in a delicious buffet of seafood, chicken, corn-on-the-cob and more at a private New England clambake on Thompson Island.”
The new Boston Short Escape is available on select dates in May through October 2019.
Bucket List Getaway in London
This new three-day, two-night Short Escape in London can be booked as a stand-alone vacation or as a pre-cruise add-on to Disney Cruise Line sailings out of nearby Dover, England.
The itinerary for this short adventure is filled with amazing experiences! Guests will have a once-in-a-lifetime, private viewing of the royal Crown Jewels led by the Tower of London’s Jewel House Warden! There’s also a private, high-speed thrill ride in a rib boat along the River Thames. And a special privately guided tour of Westminster Abbey. “Families will also witness the time-honored tradition of the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace.”
The new London Short Escape is available on select dates in July, August and September 2019.
City Highlights and Outdoor Recreation in Vancouver
On this new three-day, two-night Short Escape itinerary in Vancouver guests can enjoy, outdoor activities like zip-lining and gondola rides at Grouse Mountain, a special privately guided tour at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, and a morning bike ride through Stanley Park.
There will also be a “foodie” walking tour of Granville Island’s Public Market. Younger adventurers can take part in a special scavenger hunt expedition while the adults can sample beer and wine flights at a local tasting room.
As part of this trip, guests will also get early morning access to Grouse Mountain’s resident grizzly bear habitat, where you can can observe bears up-close, learn from a local bear expert and enjoy a private breakfast.

The new Vancouver Short Escape is available on select dates in May through September 2019. This trip can be booked as a stand-alone vacation or as and add-on package to a Disney Cruise Line Alaska voyage.
Bookings for new Short Escapes will begin on Sept. 20, 2018.
