Now that progress is finally happening over at the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, the construction walls have been given a new look.
MouseSteps on Youtube posted this video giving us a better look at the wall.
It has a cool spacey look to it and around the wall there are the normal “Dream Buillder” quotes that are usually seen on construction walls around Disney. But these have a spacey, Guardians, Epcot-esqu, type design to them, the Epcot log and the number “21” in the upper right hand corner.
What could “21” mean?
There have been a couple of different theories about the “21.” One theory I’ve seen is that there were rumors of Epcot getting new name with the new look. The one I’ve hear the most was that they were going back to Epcot Center, then there was a lot of evidence to support a name change to Epcot World Center, but I’ve also seen people suggest Epcot ’21, as a potential name. It isn’t that far fetched as one would think. Back in the 1990’s Epcot was Epcot ’94 and Epcot ’95, but they stopped after those years.
Another explanation could be that the attraction will open in 2021 for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World and the 40th Anniversary of Epcot. Most seem to think that’s the time frame they are shooting for completion on the new attraction.
It will probably take a couple of years to produce considering the size it will be. Disney is already saying it will be one of the world’s longest indoor coaster attractions.
Either way, the new walls are really pretty and they do fit with the upcoming theme of the new attraction. It also goes great with Mission Space next door. Maybe this will be the new Instagram wall of choice #spacewall or #Guardianswall? Will there be a PhotoPass person there soon? I only wish I was kidding.
What do you think? Personally, I think it’s gorgeous. I don’t mind looking at that while they do work. How about you? Comment and let us know!
