New Nighttime Lagoon Show Coming to Universal Orlando Resort

A new nighttime spectacular is coming soon to Universal Studios, but details are sparse.

From Universal’s press release…

A new nighttime lagoon show is coming to Universal Studios Florida that will include new animation featuring characters from favorite Universal attractions, a new storyline, new music, lighting and special effects.  It will take Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular – 100 Years of Movie Memories, which is now closed, to an entirely new level.  This is one of many new experiences coming to Universal Orlando as we continue to grow our destination.  Stay tuned to the Universal Orlando blog for updates – more details will be released soon.

The show may put more emphasis on Dreamworks and Illumination characters, which have joined the park since the original show began. Maybe we’ll even see a little more Harry Potter?

The announcement comes hot on the heels of much speculation regarding Universal’s plans for future expansion. It’s almost a certainty that Nintendo will come to Orlando, and it’s possible that Universal may time its opening with Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. There’s word of more Harry Potter coming to the parks as well.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that there’s more magic to be had in Orlando outside of Buena Vista Drive.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
