New ‘Up’ Show to Replace ‘Flights of Wonder’ at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Next year will mark the 20th Anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  Yesterday, during their 12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas announcements, Disney announced that there will be a new show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Starting in spring of 2018, the new show will feature Dug and Russel from Disney-Pixar’s Up. This new show will be a fun change for the milestone, replacing the Flights of Wonder show.

Don’t worry about the birds

The Disney Parks Blog said:

“Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his furry friend Dug as they discover species of birds from around the world in their newest adventure at the Caravan Theater in Anandapur village. There will be “UP” close encounters each day with amazing winged creatures!”

It sounds like the birds will still be part of the new show. We can only hope there will be a squirrel too!

You can still see the original Flights of Wonder show until December 31, 2017 and then it will close to prepare for the new show.

  1. I really love the Flights of Wonder show, and I’m sad to see it leave; It’s such an amazing show! I am excited for the Up show, though. I just hope is lives up to its predecessor.
