New Theater Inspired By Kansas City’s Willis Wood Theater Coming to Walt Disney World

(Concept Art: Disney)

Today at the D23 Expo Disney announced a brand new theater coming to the Main Street U.S.A in the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Based on the 1920’s Willis Wood Theater in Kansas City, where Walt Disney lived after he left Marceline, the new theater will be home to new ‘world-class entertainment’ for Walt Disney World park guests.

The Disney Parks blog posted the following:

“Across Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, we’ve been upping the game in Entertainment with shows like Frozen Live at the Hyperion,” Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts said. “It’s been a huge hit at the Disneyland Resort, and I’m sure many of you have seen it. This new theater at Walt Disney World continues that streak by bringing a new venue for world-class entertainment to the world’s biggest park.”

It’s such a beautiful building!  The design would blend perfectly with Main Street U.S.A Walt Disney World.   Not much information has been given at this point.  We will update when we have more to share.
