‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’ to be removed from ‘Coco’ after December 8th

Do you want to build a snowman? Apparently not, because Disney is ditching the Frozen holiday special that’s been playing in front of Coco.

According to some posters on reddit, their theater got word of Disney pulling the 22 minute short beginning on December 8th. While some Disney fans found the Frozen short enjoyable (myself included) its added runtime has annoyed many other moviegoers who just wanted to see Coco. Disney and Pixar often run 5-10 minute shorts before its feature films, but Frozen was obviously designed to be a half hour Christmas special and was just a little too long for some.

The is the message Disney is sending out to theater owners:

Please note that the run of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure playing before COCO will end after 12/7. Starting on Friday 12/8 no more Olaf shorts should be up on screen. With the extra 22 minutes of running time back, we would appreciate if you could get in an extra show if possible. Thanks!

According to Disney, the Frozen short was always meant to be a limited time showing. However, it’s awfully coincidental timing.

There’s no word yet as to whether or not Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will come bundled on the Coco home video release, or if it will be a separate release.
