As a child of the epic 90’s era of Disney animated films, I adore Beauty and the Beast. It is one of my favorite movies of all times. New Fantasyland is an excellent place for all of the fans Beauty and the Beast. Once you enter New Fantasyland, you pass by Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Be Our Guest Restaurant you get to a little courtyard.
Inside the courtyard you’ll find Gaston’s Tavern, Bonjour! Village Gifts, a Gaston Meet and Greet and restrooms. The area around Gaston’s Tavern transports visitors inside the movie and makes you feel like you are in a provincial town that does not in anyway resemble Orlando Florida (aside from the heat).
Outside the restaurant (snack location) is a jolly fountain featuring Gaston himself and LeFou. This is a great spot to take a fun family picture! In fact, sometimes there are Photopass Photographers there. The tavern looks like a rustic hunting pub from the outside. Antlers are featured heavily in the decor – both on the inside and even on the outside.
On each of our trips to Disney, we visit Gaston’s Tavern. It’s a tradition now – we must have one of those giant, warm, ooey-gooey cinnamon buns and a LeFou’s Brew. It is the PERFECT Magic Kingdom breakfast. If you’re stopping by at another time and don’t feel like a cinnamon bun, currently the menu has a ham and cheese stuffed pretzel, hummus and other quick snacks.
Our approach with Gaston’s tavern involves taking in a few rides at rope drop and then making a beeline to Gaston’s Tavern before our scheduled Fast Passes. Immediately as you enter, you are facing the registers and place your order. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for your order to arrive, but they it is totally worth the wait.
The cinnamon buns are gigantic. We have to share, definitely cannot eat one on our own (and I’m a sweet lover). When they are served very warm, they are incredible! Caramel and icing dripping down the side, warm cinnamon swirl inside the bun – seriously, you cannot go wrong with this treat!
Though if you do not like sweets, you may want to select another option. To complement the sweet cinnamon roll, we like to share a sweet cup of LeFou’s Brew. LeFou’s Brew is frozen apple juice with a foam served on top. This treat isn’t for everyone, but it is a refreshing treat with breakfast or when it’s hot outside.
If you’re on the dining plan, Gaston’s tavern is a great place to use snack credits. Now that each day comes with 2 snack credits per person, this is a great stop for getting breakfast in the park without having to use a counter service credit. If you’re a fan of Beauty and the Beast or just love sweet treats, make sure to stop at Gaston’s Tavern!
