For May the Fourth Be With You, Disney has announced next years runDisney Star Wars event.

Star Wars race weekend for 2019 will be the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend and will be presented by OtterBox. OtterBox sponsored the amazing Star Wars Half Marathon weekend last month and there were more than 43,500 runners in attendance!

The Star Wars Rival Run will allow participants to choose which side of the force they want to run for. The light side or the dark side!

I love this idea so much!

The Star Wars Race weekend will take place April 4-7, 2019 and will feature “favorite Star Wars rivalries from across the saga.”

Like this years Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon Weekend there will be races for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon, as well as the two challenges. For the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend next year there will be a Star Wars Rival Run Challenge. Runners  have to complete the 10K and the half marathon to achieve this. There will be another runDisney Kessel Run Challenge where runners must complete the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon and the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon.

There will also be the runDisney Kids Races during next years event as well.

Disney added the following:

Regardless of which side you choose, you won’t want to miss your chance to be a part of this unique adventure where you’ll encounter Star Wars characters along the course as you journey to the finish line to earn one-of-a-kind medals.

It is a lot of fun and there are many chances to meet characters along the way. The medals and t-shirts are fantastic quality!

We actually participated in the recent Star Wars Run Weekend and you can check out more about the family friendly 5K run here.

Disney also added this video.

Keep checking runDisney for upcoming events and registration information.

If you have never done one you really should consider it, it’s a lot of fun and a great experience! You can at least try some of runDisney’s great Virtual runs from your own home town. They are definitely worth the time!

I’m really looking forward to this event next year! How about you? Have you ever tried a runDisney event? Do you want to? Comment and let us know!
