The Season of the Force continues in 2017 at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The Star Wars event began in November 2015 to coincide with the release of The Force Awakens and continues to offer a variety of Star Wars themed attractions and experiences while the work continues on the Star Wars Land expansion.
Currently, the following attractions are offered during the Season of the Force event:
- Hyperspace Mountain: A Star Wars overlay of the venerable Space Mountain, featuring projected visuals of X-Wings vs. TIE Fighters and John Williams’ soaring Star Wars score.
- Star Wars Launch Bay: Formerly Innoventions, the Launch Bay features many props from the movies — including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — as well as character meet and greet opportunities.
- Star Tours – The Adventure Continues: Another classic Tomorrowland attraction, this motion simulator ride underwent a major facelift a few years ago and features many new planets (including Jakku from The Force Awakens) and the addition of 3D.
- Jedi Training – Trials of the Temple: Your kids can become Jedi padawans and train to face the fearsome Darth Vader!
If you live on the East Coast, Season of the Force in Disneyland is very similar to the Star Wars offerings in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World — with the exception of Hyperspace Mountain (which is unfortunate!)
How long will The Season of the Force last in Disneyland?
It’s unclear how long the Season of the Force event will go on for. Since it appears to be a placeholder for Star Wars Land, it’s likely that it will continue until that land opens.
However, if you’re worried about missing it, you can book a trip to Disneyland Resort today! We thoroughly recommend Mickey Vacations by Academy Travel. They’re one of a handful of Platinum Earmarked agencies, and their services are 100% free.
