Security Tightened at Walt Disney World Hotels

Disney is tightening security at its Magic Kingdom area resorts beginning this holiday season.

According to WATE, guests at the Polynesian, Contemporary or Grand Floridian resorts will no longer be able to use a “Do Not Disturb” sign to keep Disney employees from entering their room. Instead guests will be able to use “Room Occupied,” as a new policy mandates that Disney employees must enter every hotel room once per day, even if you do not want it to be cleaned.

It is expected that Disney will roll the changes out throughout all of its hotels in the coming weeks.

It’s uncertain as to why Disney is instituting this policy. One theory suggests that it could have to do with the tragic Las Vegas shooting in October in which a gunman killed 58 people from a room in the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
