‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Comes to Disney Parks in Star Tours Update

Confirmed at Star Wars Celebration last week, the planet Crait from Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be added to Star Tours in Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

In 2015, Jakku from The Force Awakens was added to Star Wars. For quite some time, Jakku was always the first planet visited, with a random planet afterwards. After the 2011 update, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue allowed for a randomization of planets so each ride experience was unique. It seems as if Disney is going to continue to add new scenes for the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Current planets include Tatooine, Naboo, Coruscant and Hoth.

It’s uncertain what role Crait will play in The Last Jedi. The rumor is that it’s a mining colony run by the Resistance, and an Empire Strikes Back-like battle will take place there — AT-ATs and all.

No date has been set for the Star Tours update, but it’s unlikely that Disney will spoil the film before its release. Look for the update in November or December of 2017.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
