UPDATE – New ‘Star Wars’ Stage in Disney’s Hollywood Studios Will Be Mobile

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away isn’t going far, far away. But it is moving. Rather, the stage for it will be moving.

Beginning on June 16, the stage that occupies the space where Sorcerer Mickey’s hat used to be in Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be mobile. According to WDW Magic, the mobile stage will allow for more standing room and better visibility for the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks show and the new Disney Movie Magic show.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away premiered last year and is considered by some to be a temporary placeholder Star Wars experience until Star Wars Land is completed in 2019. Future plans for The Great Movie Ride and a possible new icon for Hollywood Studios may impact just how long the stage show is performed.

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
