One of our favorite discoveries at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was hopping aboard the Wildlife Express Train for a little adventure beyond Harambe. The train ride itself felt like part of the experience, about seven minutes of rolling past animal-care areas for rhinos, elephants, and more before arriving at Conservation Station. It’s the kind of under-the-radar Disney stop that somehow manages to be both fascinating and delightfully fun.
The walking pathways made the experience feel even more meaningful. Along the way, I noticed signs sharing simple, real-world ideas for how we can help wildlife and become conservationists at home. I appreciated that the message wasn’t overwhelming; it was a reminder that small choices can add up. Between the garden, the animals, and those thoughtful conservation tips, Conservation Station left me feeling inspired!
Inside Conservation Station, I love getting a closer look at the care that goes into looking after the park’s animals. There are windows into the veterinary treatment room and animal nutrition area, plus opportunities to spot some of the park’s smaller residents—think frogs, lizards, and invertebrates. I’m not saying I suddenly became an animal-care expert, but I definitely walked away with a new appreciation for the people who do this work every day.
I also spent time admiring the pollinator garden in the courtyard outside Conservation Station. It was such a peaceful little corner, full of flowers and fluttering butterflies, one of those moments that makes you slow down and actually look around. I loved knowing the garden is designed to support pollinators, which are such an important part of keeping ecosystems healthy!
The best surprise, though? Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station. Bluey and Bingo bring the joyful, slightly chaotic energy you would expect, with dancing and playful games inspired by favorites like Magic Asparagus and Keepy Uppy. It felt like the kind of place where kids can go full speed ahead, while the grown-ups are just as likely to get caught smiling and joining in.
What I really loved was how naturally it all fit together. One minute we were laughing and playing in Bluey’s colorful world, and the next we were learning about animals and conservation, including animals native to Australia, Bluey’s home country. It is playful, meaningful, and a genuinely cool change of pace from the bigger rides.
And because the Australian theme keeps going, I absolutely had to check out Jumping Junction. This newer wildlife experience is where kangaroos and wallabies take center stage, and seeing these incredible marsupials up close was such a cool bonus. I loved learning how to tell them apart while getting a little taste of the Australian Outback right inside Animal Kingdom. It made the whole Conservation Station visit feel even more complete: Bluey and Bingo brought the playfulness, while Jumping Junction brought the real-life “wow, look at that!” animal moment.
Insider Tip: Make time for the Wildlife Express Train and treat Conservation Station as a destination, not just a quick add-on. Between the behind-the-scenes animal care, the friendly experts who can answer questions, and Bluey and Bingo bringing heaps of fun, it turned into one of those Animal Kingdom memories we’ll be talking about long after the trip!
