Representatives from the Walt Disney Company have given us official confirmation that they’ve entered into advanced discussions with Brightline/Virgian Trains USA, regarding a train station on or near Disney World property. Reps from Brightline/Virgin Trains USA have also commented.

Virgin’s Executive Vice President of Infrastructure, Michael Cegelis, stated; “The talks with Disney are in a “rather advanced state now.”

In an a prepared statement, Disney officials commented, saying: “Walt Disney World Resort is an obvious choice for a rail station between Orlando International Airport and Tampa. While we have not yet made any definitive commitment, we have mutually agreed to more formally explore developing a train station on our property.”

The station would be an addition to the Brightline/Virgin Trains $4 billion, 160-mile expansion from West Palm Beach to the Orlando airport.
