Something exciting is about to be celebrated at Disneyland! Disneyland Park will be adding new menu items to their food and drink menus (available Nov. 12) at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for Life Day. If you are not familiar with Life Day in the world of Star Wars, here’s the official description of this special event from the Star Wars website:
Life Day began as a Wookiee holiday centered around the Kashyyyk Tree of Life, but can be celebrated by any species in any location. Princess Leia Organa once spoke of Life Day as a reminder that we’re all in the same struggle against the powers of evil and darkness.
Family, joy, and harmony are all among the values and tenets of Wookiee culture that are embraced on Life Day. It’s a time to share the hopes of celebrating freedom and peace, no matter how different we may all appear. People enjoying Life Day traditionally mark this holiday with festive décor, music, activities, and the serving of unique and special food items.
There have been all sorts of nods to Life Day in different Star Wars episodes and shows. If you also watched The Mandalorian (Chapter 1), a Mythrol told Din Djarin of his wish to be free for Life Day to reunite with his family, as he (unsuccessfully) tried to find a way out of the bounty hunter’s hands on the Razor Crest.
So there you have it and I personally think this is such a great celebration to incorporate at Disneyland Park for Guests. On Life Day at Disneyland, don’t be surprised to spot Guests taking a moment to honor this special holiday in the streets of Black Spire Outpost with a song or two. You may even see some nods to the costumes worn in the original Star Wars Holiday Special, as revelers enjoy a glass of Blue Milk or a Ronto Wrap…
