On Deck 3 of the Disney WIsh, guests will find themselves transported to The Bayou of New Orleans, as they step into what is arguably one of the most beautiful spaces on board. Relax under the soft glow of the fairy-like lights (we see you, Ray!) entangled with the looming magnolia tree branches cascading down from the ceiling. Chairs and couches are adorned with green velvet fabric, as clear colored glass light features hang all around the bar area, reminding us of Mama Odie’s “Dig A Little Deeper” number from the iconic film. Speaking of Mama Odie, her kitchen is open for business here at The Bayou in the evenings, so passengers can grab a pre-dinner drink or little nightcap, whichever they prefer! Let’s take a peek at the menu offerings:
Naturally, guests can order Beignets with chocolate dipping sauce, as well as an assortment of New Orleans-inspired cocktails and mocktails. I personally visited the Bayou for a little pre-dinner snack & drink; here is what I got:
Both menu options were delicious; the beignet came out nice and hot, and my drink was absolutely delicious and refreshing! You could easily add a little *something, something* to this drink to make it a cocktail if you wanted! If you choose to visit The Bayou later on in the evening, you will find live music to enjoy on the little stage, just like Tiana’s Palace was in the movie! As a huge fan of The Princess and the Frog, this was such a cool experience; I think it was my favorite space on board the Wish to just relax, sip a drink and enjoy the atmosphere. Movie lovers will appreciate all the little nods to the movie found throughout the space, like these frog statues modeled to look like Prince Naveen &Tiana; as well as the lily pad light fixtures atop the larger seating areas.
