Tomorrow, May 27, 2017, Pandora- The World of Avatar will open in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort. To commemorate this occasion Disney will be offering special pieces of merchandise available at the Windtraders shop in Pandora and some select items will also be available at the Disney Trading Company in the Discovery Island area of the park.
Guests can purchase t-shirts, hats and water bottles, featuring art work created by Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media Creative Group, to remember the opening of Pandora-The World of Avatar.
Disney pin collectors can get in on the exclusive opening day action too! There will be a special limited edition 5 pin boxed-set from the Countdown to Pandora collection , that featured the “travel posters” from the Alpha Centauri Expeditions–the exclusive tour guides of Pandora. The posters were designed by Dylan Cole, Co-Production Designer for the upcoming “Avatar” motion picture sequels. There will be a limited edition of 250 sets.
The limited edition pin for the park opening features Dylan’s artwork of Pandora at night. There will be 5,000 pins available.
Special Magic Bands will also be available, including a special annual pass holder version. You can read more about those here.
Good news! Select items will be available on the Disneystore.com. According to the Disney Parks Blog Meredith Gaiser, marketing manager from Disney Parks and Resorts Digital said:
We will be offering three commemorative t-shirts online from May 24 to June 7. These items are very similar to the shirts being carried at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the opening. It’s a fun way for a guest to celebrate the opening while preparing for a future visit to Pandora.
She also indicated that select merchandise will be available tomorrow on the Shop Disney Parks App.
