Spooky season is upon us and that means it’s time to break out the Halloween decorations! I am always adding to my own collection as new merchandise comes out every year because I of course have to make my house the coolest one on the block! Over the last couple of years I’ve noticed a growing popularity in Halloween trees. You know, like black Christmas trees with Halloween ornaments! You may think it sounds strange at first, but hey you know it sounds really awesome the more you think about it and all the different cool things you do with it!
If you are having trouble getting started, here are a few ideas!
Step One: You will want to start with a black (or orange or purple!) tree. These days you can find a black Christmas tree at Walmart or Target but I’ve found my favorite one over a Michaels Craft Store:
Step Two: String your favorite Halloween colored lights through the tree. My favorite two Halloween colors are purple and orange.
Step Three: Top with a Halloween-themed tree topper or wreath. My favorite one that I’ve found is this Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Pumpkin King Miniature Tree Topper from Amazon.
Step Four: Get crafty with ornaments! Hang bats, pumpkins, ornaments…whatever your heart desires! You can get festive with a classic Halloween theme (pumpkins, bats, ghosts, etc) or you can have fun with different themes such a “Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Haunted Mansion”, “Coco” (Dia de los Muertos), “Hocus Pocus”, etc!
Step Five: Light up the tree, turn off the lights, and enjoy! Once you see those Halloween colored lights glowing in the darkness of the night you will really start to feel in the spirit with the spookiest holiday of the year!
Now a Halloween tree actually sounds really awesome and festive huh? Share your ideas and/or pictures for your Disney-themed Halloween tree in the comments!
