If you’ve been considering a fall getaway to Universal Orlando Resort, Harry Potter fans just got another reason to book the trip.
The darker side of the Wizarding World will take over Universal Orlando this fall with the long-awaited return of Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle in Hogsmeade and encounters with Death Eaters in Diagon Alley.

Between these experiences and all of the other Halloween festivities happening around Universal Orlando, fall is shaping up to be an especially exciting time to visit—particularly for guests who prefer their Wizarding World adventures with a little more Dark Magic.
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle Returns for the First Time Since 2022
After several years away, Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle is officially returning to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure.
The nighttime experience will be presented on select nights from September 5 through November 1, 2026.
Once darkness falls over Hogsmeade, Hogwarts Castle becomes the backdrop for a much more sinister side of the Wizarding World. Guests will encounter imagery inspired by Dementors, Death Eaters and other followers of Lord Voldemort as Dark Magic appears to consume the castle.
The experience combines projection mapping, lighting, special effects and recognizable music from the Harry Potter films to transform Hogwarts into an ominous nighttime spectacle.
If you haven’t experienced Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle before—or have been waiting for it to return since its last appearance in 2022—this fall is finally your chance.
Death Eaters Are Coming to Diagon Alley
The darkness won’t be limited to Islands of Adventure.
Over at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, guests may find themselves face-to-face with some of Lord Voldemort’s most devoted followers.
Death Eaters will appear on select days and nights from August 27 through November 1, 2026, roaming through Diagon Alley and lurking within the shadows of Knockturn Alley.

Their presence should make an already eerie walk through Knockturn Alley feel even more immersive—especially after dark.
Explore the Darker Side of Diagon Alley
While you’re in Diagon Alley, this is also the perfect time to venture into Borgin and Burkes.
Located within Knockturn Alley, the dimly lit shop is filled with unusual objects and Dark Arts-inspired details. Even without Death Eaters wandering nearby, it’s one of the eeriest places to explore within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Guests looking to bring some of that Dark Magic home can also shop seasonal merchandise. Universal has released new Dark Arts-inspired items for the occasion, including a Second Generation Interactive Wand designed after Lord Voldemort’s wand.
Make It a Fall Universal Orlando Getaway
Between the return of Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle and Death Eaters roaming Diagon Alley, Harry Potter fans have two more reasons to experience Universal Orlando this fall.
You could spend your day exploring Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, ride attractions like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, enjoy a Butterbeer, and then watch the Wizarding World take on an entirely different atmosphere as darkness falls.
And if you’re visiting for Universal’s other Halloween experiences, these limited-time Wizarding World additions make it even easier to turn your visit into a complete fall vacation.
Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle runs on select nights September 5 through November 1, while Death Eaters will appear in Diagon Alley on select days and nights August 27 through November 1.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to plan a fall Universal Orlando Resort vacation, this might be it.
