Every time I visit Walt Disney World, I try to do at least one thing I’ve never done before! For the first time, I dined at the well-known Plaza Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom! We weren’t planning to have a sit-down meal, but when I saw storms rolling in I snagged a lunch reservation on the My Disney Experience app and we waited out the rain in the best, dry way possible! It was the perfect meal for a rainy day, and I would totally eat here again!
I enjoyed the Pot Roast Stack, which was like having a home-cooked meal in the theme parks; it was amazing! The beef was so tender you could pull it apart with the tip of your fork, and the gravy was so yummy slathered on mashed potatoes. The onion rings were a nice touch on top; you can also order these as an appetizer if you’re an onion ring person! They’re HUGE and perfect for sharing & dipping! My husband ordered the Home-style meatloaf and enjoyed every single bite! It was topped with a tomato sauce, and served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and would highly recommend both dishes! We, of course, had to order dessert! Being right next door to the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, the dessert menu is full of ice creams, sundaes, milkshakes & more! I had the Strawberry Shortcake Milkshake, and while it wasn’t as big as the pictures on the menu let on, it was still good! I didn’t think it had much ice cream in it, to be honest, it was more whipped cream than anything else. We also ordered 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream with hot fudge which was great, and that’s what I would recommend you order instead of a shake! You definitely will get your money’s worth if you order ice cream scoops with toppings!
We highly suggest making a reservation for lunch or dinner if you’d like to dine at The Plaza Restaurant! Whether you visit during the day or in the evening, you’re sure to enjoy those castle views!
