Disney Bans Medical Marijuana in Walt Disney World

Medical marijuana is legal in Florida, but you can’t bring it with you into Walt Disney World.

Disney has recently made a change to its policies on the official Walt Disney World website that just says no to drugs.

According to WESH-TV, a Disney spokesperson sought to clarify the rule regarding the drug’s use…

Although some states have legalized marijuana for medicinal or recreational use, marijuana remains illegal under federal law. We are revising our rules to clarify that marijuana is not permitted on our property.

While Disney sells alcohol on property, guests may not bring their own beer to Walt Disney World.

(And no, Disney does not currently sell marijuana on property. Sorry.)

  1. Disney could provide a place for people who smokes their medicine to do it privately. It sounds like they don’t know that there are other ways of ingesting medical marijuana that don’t involve smoking and wouldn’t no way put anyone at the resort at risk. To deny somebody there medicine is in human and I’ve never been to Disney and now I know I never will be. They might as well tell people they can’t bring in their opioids or Ritalin or anything else if they’re going to say no to one drug they have to say no to them all. Medical marijuana is the only thing that can treat my medical conditions. To say I couldn’t bring the only medicine that prevents me from being completely wheelchair-bound or an intractable level seven or above pain means I couldn’t even enjoy Disney World or being with family. And the same holds true for many many many medical marijuana patients. I’m 63 and I use topicals and tinctures most of the time and leave my smoke at home. Thank you Disney for caring children about with epilepsy, Veterans with PTSD, grandparents with Alzheimer’s, and other people who are in no way the stereo typical reefer madness propaganda pot smokers. I won’t even buy your DVDs or any other Disney copyrighted product to give to my grandchildren.
