Disney Company Q2 Report: Disney Has And Will Continue To Increase Capacity In Theme Parks!

Among the many subjects the Walt Disney Company covered in their Q2 earnings report, Bob Chapeck mentioned his intention to continue raising capacity limits in the theme parks.

He also touched on his desire to have face coverings reduced by the summertime in response to the CDC guidelines and recommendations updated this week. The Walt Disney Company seemed very positive that the theme parks’ attendance will grow as the need and want to visit has increased substantially.

Bob Chapeck answered questions and divulged a ton of information and with this discussed the matter of attendance;
“In terms of the parks, and when we’re going to sort of be able to raise our capacity limits, we’ve actually already started that, given the guidance that just came today, from the CDC, and earlier guidance that we got from the governor of Florida, we’ve already started to increase our capacities.”Says Bob Chapeck – CEO Walt Disney Company.
He continues and hints at the possibility we may see face covering guidelines adjusted come summertime;
“Obviously today’s guidance that we got from the CDC in terms of those that were vaccinated do not necessarily need to wear masks anymore, both outdoors and indoors, is very big news for us, particularly if anybody’s been in Florida in the middle of the summer with a mask on. That could be quite daunting. So we think that’s going to make for an even more pleasant experience and we believe that as we’re now bringing back a lot of people back to work, that it’s going to be an even bigger catalyst for growth in attendance, and we’ve been quite pleased to date.”

So we expect there to be more reservations for the parks opening up sooner rather than later. As far as the rest of the information from this illuminating discussion, we are planning to pick it apart piece by piece and relay the info.
