Gabrielle Runson of the Orlando Sentinel, just broke the news that a guest at Walt Disney World has been accused of ditching a loaded handgun behind a planter near the Magic Kingdom’s security checkpoint.
The Orlando Sentinel shares that as per the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report, the woman also blamed her her 6-year-old son, who she said was supposed to be watchingthe gun. Yes, you read that correctly.
The guest, Marcia Temple, 27, of Lithonia, Ga., was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm. This all took place in early October.
A spokesperson for Disney told the Orlando Sentinel, in a statement earlier today, “Our rules are clear. Weapons are not allowed at our resort.”
When the woman was asked why she had a gun, she said, “I had told my son to hold it for me and stand right here” while she went to get her brother to take the purse and gun back to the car, the report quotes Temple as saying.
The deputy determined Temple didn’t have a concealed weapon permit for Florida or Georgia.
After determining Temple didn’t have a concealed weapon permit, she was arrested and also banned from Walt Disney World property.
