In case you’ve been living under a [bio-luminescent] rock, Disney has a new IP-themed land that they want to you visit.
The long-awaited Pandora – The World of Avatar officially opens this week, and the Disney Parks Blog will live stream the dedication ceremony on May 24, 2017 at 9:25 a.m. EST.
From the announcement…
Pandora – The World of Avatar will give guests the chance to explore an interactive world filled with bioluminescent rainforests, floating mountains and surprising flora. Here, guests can experience Avatar Flight of Passage, an attraction that sends guests flying over Pandora on a banshee, and Na’vi River Journey, a family-friendly boat ride that travels down a mystical river.
Pandora has been open for preview events for a few weeks now, as media, Disney cast members and annual pass holders have already been posting their opinions online. Thankfully, most of it has been very positive save for a few complaints about the Flight of Passage ride vehicles.
It looks like Disney has a winner on its hands, and the land should tide guests over until Star Wars Land opens in Hollywood Studios some time in 2019.
