Disneyland Magic Key holders have been waiting for weeks and weeks now for information on their Magic Key renewals. Disney has not made any sort of announcement recently causing mass amounts of frustration for those who only have about a week left to use their current pass. Now, this morning, Disneyland has finally made an announcement regarding renewals. To get right to it, Disneyland Magic Key renewals open on August 18. Some major changes have been made for this next year’s pass options, and it is sure to cause some frustrations for those who have had the highest pass (the Dream Key) and for others who will be perfectly fine renewing their lower-tiered Keys.
The biggest change is now, ALL Magic Keys will have blockout dates. Disneyland will only be offering renewals for Magic Keys, and all new Magic Key sales are paused. The Dream Key will no longer be sold, which was the highest and most expensive pass with no block-out dates. Here are the passes that will be available, along with their perks:
Inspire $1599 (new)
6 park res/time Free standard parking PhotoPass (soon)
Believe $1099 (was $949)
6 park res/time 50% off select parking PhotoPass (soon)
Enchant $699 (was $649)
4 park res/time 25% off some parking
Imagine $449 (was $399)
2 park res/time 25% off some parking
All passes will get a 20% Genie+ discount.
Disneyland has also stated that these passes can become unavailable at any time – which means certain passes may not be available for renewal at some point in the future. As stated above, renewals will begin on August 18 (no earlier than 9 a.m.) and a virtual queue system will be used. If your pass has already expired or will expire before August 18, you can call Disneyland anytime between Aug. 18 and Aug. 31 to renew your pass.
