The Pop Century Resort has long been our favorite value resort in Walt Disney World. Now the resort is getting a bit of an overhaul with new room theming and kitchsy Japanese-style merchandise vending machines.
Youtube user The Mouse Diva has posted a video of the newly remodeled rooms, which feature pullout beds, laminate floors and a Lichtenstein-esque “pop culture” decor.
In addition to the room overhauls, they’ve added merchandise vending machines. According to the Disney Food Blog, you can buy everything from Disney autograph books to Disney Trading Pins to MagicBand bling.
One of the rumors we’ve been hearing about the Pop Century is that Disney may do away with the “Value” or “Moderate” class for many of its resorts, and sell rooms at different price points based on theming. The Epcot area resorts are getting a lot of attention these days, and it’s possible that the Pop and Art of Animation will be on the long-rumored aerial gondola route.
