Back in July we had reported that a new permit had been filed for the new Disney Star Wars hotel at Disney World. Now it looks like the hotel is starting to take shape! Star Wars fans have been anxiously awaiting any news on this hotel since hotel since the project was announced at the 2017 D23 Expo in Anaheim.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, which is set to open for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2021, has seen some major construction progress recently.

Twitter user @bioreconstruct shared multiple images of the new Star Wars hotel site:

These first set of photos shows the full Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser property, including the road where Guests will presumably be dropped-off to “board” the Halcyon starship for their interstellar journey through the Galaxy.

In this next photo you can see relatively close-up construction work, including what appears to be an outdoor balcony area for starship travelers. @bioreconstruct included the following information about the immersive Star Wars experience Guests can expect:

Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser (hotel) will have 2 day cruises, with shore excursions to Batuu (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge). It’s unclear how the ship tenders or shuttle flights will work. Aerial look at likely location of the transfer.

This third photo gives a clear look at the multi-level scaffolding that is currently set-up on the exterior of the real-life Star Wars starship structure.

In this Twitter post even more details are given about how Guests will navigate the Galactic Starcruiser once they are onboard. No photographs of interior spaces have been released by Disney, although there are several artist renderings.

At the end of last year it was announced that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will open in 2021. This past February it was announced that Disney would start taking reservations at the end of 2020. As soon as reservation open up you can be sure that we will let you know!
