Have you ever wanted to ride an attraction but couldn’t because an individual(s) in your party did not meet the height requirement or was not able to ride for any other reason, so you missed out? Don’t make the same mistake next time because the Disney Parks have a thing called Rider Switch, and it’s pretty nifty! Here’s how it works…
1. Not every attraction offers Rider Switch, so when you approach an attraction, ask the Cast Member working the line if it’s offered. We have also listed a complete list of attractions that offer Rider Switch at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and all 4 Walt Disney World Parks.
2. Once at the attraction, approach the Cast Member that is welcoming guests into the line with your entire party. At least one adult member of your party (must be 14 years or older) and the guests who are not riding will be issued a Ride Switch entitlement by the Cast Member and asked to wait in a designated area (usually outside of the attraction). This group is “Party 2.”
3. The other party members (“Party 1”) ride the attraction.
4. After riding the attraction, Party 1 locates Party 2. Then, Party 1 takes over supervision of the non-riding children or Guests.
5. Party 2 enters and boards the attraction without having to wait in the regular queue a second time. A Cast Member must validate the Rider Switch entitlement at this time.
As stated before, Rider Switch is a really great way for those who want to ride an attraction, but they either have a small child or an individual that can’t or doesn’t want to board an attraction. It’s a great solution so that no one has to miss out! Here are a list of attractions at California and Florida Theme Parks…
