I’ve always loved the topiaries at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. After all, they’re famous to Disney go-ers as we wait all year long for them to make their debut. There’s no better way to officially break it off with winter than to breathe in the fresh air among all the botany and life sprouting up throughout the park! The other highlight to this festival is the food! Fresh, organic, and nourishing are just a few words that immediately come to mind. I love seeking out the exhibits and kitchens that really shine a light on plant food and how much we rely on plants to provide taste, flavor, and nutrition in the foods we eat and beverages we drink. While we wait for the festival kitchen menus to be released, take a peek of what’s to come this year and don’t forget to check back for emerging details!

Learn about the importance of honeybees in this immersive garden. You can also enjoy some food options, made possible by their hard work, from the adjoining outdoor kitchen. Find it near Imagination! Pavilion.
Thanks to honey bees, we have this magical sweet liquid that’s been shown to promote wound healing, provide antibacterial properties and relieve cold and flu symptoms, and you don’t even have to visit the pharmacy to get it! The sweet taste is just a plus!

Urban Spice
At the Morocco Pavilion, learn how in many eastern cultures, ancient spices were considered more valuable than gold. Even today, many cultures are defined by their signature spices and herb blends, created from plant leaves, stems, roots, seeds and flowers.
The rich culture behind spices is fascinating! I love walking by this pavilion and just inhaling the incredible aromas that come from the spices being cooked up in the kitchens. Can we talk about these nutrition powerhouses? Cinnamon helps lower blood sugar. Garlic helps boost heart health. Ginger helps relieve nausea. Turmeric fights inflammation. I bet you don’t notice these benefits as your chowing down on the tasty dishes they’re used in, but your body sure does!
