Halloween Horror Nights 2026 is bringing a seriously stacked lineup of horror to Universal Studios Hollywood. This year’s event features eight haunted houses, plus the Terror Tram starring Art the Clown, returning entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to get scared before you even make it through the park.
If you’re trying to decide whether Halloween Horror Nights belongs on your Universal Studios Hollywood vacation itinerary, here’s a quick look at everything coming to the event in 2026.
Killer Klowns from Outer Space

The Killer Klowns are back, bringing their bizarre brand of extraterrestrial terror to Halloween Horror Nights. This haunted house is inspired by the cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space, so expect plenty of creepy clowns, strange creatures, and the unmistakable look of the movie.
If clowns are already on your list of things to avoid, consider yourself warned…
Hellraiser

The Cenobites are opening the gates to their nightmarish world in Hellraiser.
Guests will step into the twisted universe of the horror franchise and come face-to-face with the creatures who have made pain and suffering their specialty.
This one is definitely aimed at fans of classic horror.
Evil Dead Burn

The Book of the Dead has been reopened, and that’s bad news for anyone entering this haunted house.
Based on Evil Dead Burn, the experience sends guests into a world filled with Deadites and supernatural horror. Universal warns guests to try not to become possessed as they make their way through the house..
Stranger Things 5

The Upside Down is back for another Halloween Horror Nights appearance. This time, the haunted house is based on Stranger Things 5, bringing guests into the series’ final chapter. Expect to encounter familiar characters, creatures, and the terrifying world of Hawkins as the story heads toward its conclusion.
Sinners

The world of Sinners is coming to Halloween Horror Nights.
Based on the hit film, this haunted house plunges guests into a dangerous world of vampires and a very different kind of Southern Gothic horror. If you haven’t seen the movie, this may be one of those houses where going in without knowing exactly what is waiting for you could make the experience even better.
Dead, Deader, Deadest

This original Halloween Horror Nights haunted house takes guests into a world where things keep getting progressively worse. The name pretty much gives you the idea. Whatever you encounter inside, it’s not going to stop at dead…
Ozzy Osbourne Prince of Darkness

Heavy metal and horror collide in Ozzy Osbourne Prince of Darkness.
This haunted house draws inspiration from Ozzy Osbourne’s legendary career and his iconic Prince of Darkness persona, creating an experience that is part rock concert and part nightmare. It’s a particularly unique addition to this year’s lineup and one that should appeal to both Ozzy fans and anyone looking for something different from the usual horror franchises.
Terror Tram starring Art the Clown

One of the biggest reasons to make time for the Terror Tram this year is its star. Art the Clown is taking over the Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot.
Universal describes the experience as Art arriving on the Backlot with his bloody bag of presents. Unfortunately for everyone involved, he realizes he’s too early for Christmas and decides to hijack the Terror Tram for his own horrific holiday tradition.
The Purge: Dangerous Waters Returns

The haunted houses aren’t the only reason to stick around for Halloween Horror Nights.
The Purge: Dangerous Waters is returning in 2026.
This fiery stunt spectacular puts guests into the lawless world of The Purge, combining live action, stunts, fire, and plenty of chaos. Universal describes it as a stunt spectacular that brings the unpredictable terror of The Purge to life.
Insider Tip: If you’ve never experienced it, make sure you build the show into your night rather than assuming you’ll have time to catch it later.
How to Plan Your Halloween Horror Nights Night
With eight haunted houses, the Terror Tram, The Purge: Dangerous Waters, scare zones, and other entertainment, there’s a lot more to Halloween Horror Nights than simply walking through a few haunted houses.
Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed event that takes place on select nights. Universal also offers various ticket and upgrade options, so deciding what type of experience you want before you arrive can save you valuable time once the event begins. If your goal is to experience as many haunted houses as possible, your strategy will look different than someone who wants to take their time, see the shows, and enjoy the scare zones.
And if you’re traveling specifically for Halloween Horror Nights, your hotel location, event date, and ticket choices can all make a difference.
Is Halloween Horror Nights Worth Adding to Your Universal Vacation?
If you’re a horror fan, 2026 has plenty to get excited about.
Between recognizable franchises like Stranger Things, Hellraiser, Evil Dead Burn and Sinners, the cult favorite Killer Klowns from Outer Space, original concepts, and the return of The Purge: Dangerous Waters, there is a lot packed into the event.
And then there’s Art the Clown taking over the Terror Tram.
The bigger question isn’t whether there will be enough to do. It’s how you’re going to fit it all into one night.
That’s where having your Universal vacation planned strategically can make a big difference.
