Yes, you read that right! Per Deadline, a Disney film is in the works featuring the character Figment, a small purple dragon who serves as the mascot of Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion at Walt Disney World. The feature hails from Seth Rogen’s Point Grey with Pokémon Detective Pikachu‘s Dan Hernandez, and Benji Samit set to write.
Figment was created by Walt Disney Imagineers Tony Baxter and Steve Kirk, among other collaborators, in 1983, the same year it made its debut in the Epcot ride Journey Into Imagination. Figment is the embodiment of the imagining process— a figment of your imagination. Figment’s popularity has grown more and more over the years (he even recently got his own popcorn bucket!), and fans have been asking for a Figment series for some time now; now they will get a movie!

There is no set release date or any plot details yet, but we can hardly wait until more information is released! For now, you can see Figment on the ride Journey Into Imagination with Figment at EPCOT, or in his brief appearances in Inside Out and Toy Story 4.
