Flying JetBlue to Walt Disney World? Disney Just Made Your Luggage One Less Thing to Worry About

If you’re flying to Walt Disney World this fall, there’s one less travel headache you may have to worry about: your checked luggage! Beginning September 24, JetBlue is being added to Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer service, joining Southwest Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines. For eligible Guests, that means you may be able to get from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort without having to handle your checked bags along the way.

That can make a Disney arrival day a whole lot easier.

So, how does Disney’s Airport Luggage Transfer work?

The service allows Guests staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels and traveling on eligible domestic flights through Orlando International Airport (MCO) to have their checked luggage transferred between the airport and their Disney Resort hotel.

Instead of handling your checked luggage at every step of your arrival, eligible Guests can use the luggage transfer service and let Disney handle the bags. That means you can focus on getting to your resort, checking in, and starting your Disney vacation rather than worrying about hauling suitcases around.

JetBlue is now included

As of September 24, Disney has expanded the participating airlines to include:

  • JetBlue
  • Southwest Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • United Airlines

Disney has stated that the service is continuing to be tested and refined, with the goal of making travel to and from Walt Disney World Resort easier for Guests and potentially expanding the service over time.

Why this can make a difference on your Disney vacation

Let’s be honest: getting to Walt Disney World can involve a lot of moving parts.

Flights. Transportation. Luggage. Resort check-in. Park plans. Dining reservations. Lightning Lane planning. And then there are all the little details you don’t realize you need to think about until you’re actually traveling.

Anything that removes one of those hassles can be a win.

If you’re eligible for Airport Luggage Transfer, you can potentially start your Disney vacation without dragging your checked bags around with you. And on departure day, having your luggage transferred from your Disney Resort to the airport can also simplify the process of getting home.

The important part: eligibility and procedures can vary, so you’ll want to make sure your specific resort, flight, and travel dates qualify before relying on the service.

Is your Disney vacation actually planned around YOUR trip?

This is one of those Disney details that sounds simple, but it’s exactly the kind of thing that can get overlooked when you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation on your own.

Which airport transportation should you use?

What time should you schedule your transportation?

How should you plan your arrival day?

What should you do with your luggage?

When should you make dining reservations?

And how do you fit everything together without turning your vacation into a giant logistical puzzle?

That’s where having a Disney travel advisor can be incredibly helpful.

You shouldn’t have to spend your vacation figuring out the logistics. You should be enjoying the vacation you spent all that time and money planning.
