Could Elsa be ditching Spider-Man for a girlfriend inĀ Frozen 2?
Apparently, it’s something that Disney is considering according to Jennifer Lee, who is penning the sequel.
In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, Lee had this to say about the future of Elsa’s relationships…
In an interview ahead of the release of her new movie āA Wrinkle in Time,ā we asked Lee her thoughts on the idea of Elsa having a girlfriend, and whether thereās been any coupling talk between creators behind the scenes.
āI love everything people are saying [and] people are thinking about with our film ā that itās creating dialogue, that Elsa is this wonderful character that speaks to so many people,āĀ Lee said. āIt means the world to us that weāre part of these conversations.ā
āWhere weāre going with it, we have tons of conversations about it, and weāre really conscientious about these things,ā Lee added. āFor me … Elsaās every day telling me where she needs to go, and sheāll continue to tell us. I always write from character-out, and where Elsa is and what Elsaās doing in her life, sheās telling me every day. Weāll see where we go.ā
Disney has been very coy in the past regarding LGBTQ themes in their movies. More recently, Josh Gad’s LeFou made headlines as the live-action Beauty and the Beast gave him an “exclusively gay moment.”
Some vocal fans on the internet have been petitioning for Elsa to have a girlfriend since before the sequel was announced.
Cheer up, Spider-Man. You’ve always got MJ.
Frozen 2 is scheduled for a 2019 release.

Ok, if this turns out to be true, I’ll actually be pretty happy. I’m a straight guy so it’s not like I want more representation of gay people because I want to be represented,I see this kind of things as just acknowledging people like that exist and must be recognized if anything else.
I acutally signed up that petition xD.
I really liked that fact that Elsa’s story wasn’t driven by a romantic relationship. If they feel like representing the lesbian community with this film all the power to them. We won’t take our daughter to see it though.
